Today we’d like to introduce you to Karon Wilson.
Karon, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am a 22-year-old film director that is born and raised in Boston. I began filming at the age of 15 when I legit found a camera on the street after praying to God to help me get enough money to get one! I have then created many web series and scripted Video on Demand Projects (Bad Boyz club, The Come up Nyc & ATL, Shadows, Maniac) those are the names of the projects I have done thus far, receiving millions of views collectively on my projects. I have won awards for my outstanding work and have done many appearances at clubs, schools to talk to people about hard work and being a business owner, etc. I have sold out my own Hosting’s for meet and Greets and for fans to attend reunions for the shows. I am currently filming the first-ever drag queen reality show that isn’t a competition. I recently signed a deal with an online streaming service!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It hasn’t been easy at all! There are many times when I wanted to give up, gave up and more. It’s not easy working at your dreams and I know that all so well. From people stealing money from me, playing me in deals, not showing up to work on film day, etc. I still stand and work as hard as I can because when I want something so bad I will not let anyone or anything to get in my way, I’ve always been such a go-getter and I will continue to do so!
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Gemini Filmz – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
My business is a film company by the name of GEMINI FILMZ, I film anything that’s on my mind or in my creative notes for a short film or reality series. I want to inspire people to be able to do whatever they put their minds to. I shoot all kinds of films from music videos, commercials, short films, vlogs and reality series. I and mainly known for my shows titled Bad Boyz Club & My scripted popular show “Shadows.” I am most proud of my scripted Projects because it was written and Directed by me which can show my talents! What sets me apart from others is my production, I study film and each project try to make it bigger and better! I work very hard all mainly alone and I think my creativity is so out of this world.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plans for the future is to create more projects that will get picked up to go on more streaming services or network for tv and travel the world and film. I am really looking forward to doing more film screenings for my new short films coming out, I have a lot of ideas for new films and I am super excited to get working on them!
