Today we’d like to introduce you to KaShanna Hale.
KaShanna, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I knew I always wanted to take care of people some kind of way. I served my country by joining the Army for eight years. I was also in College to become a nurse. I came to a bump in the road and my hairstylist at the time recommended me try Cosmetology. I knew a little about styling but nothing else about the beauty industry. I decided to check out Aveda Institute of Atlanta and fell in love. I was determined to make this a career after ten years of trying to find my way. After a few months, I guess the other students saw something in me and my class made me class president. Later I became the student council president of the school. I got licensed in 2009 and knew this would be my passion. After ten years in the Industry, I am now Certified as Master Pravana Colorist and a Medical Hair Loss Specialist.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I pray over my business daily but struggles have come. I remember Transitioning salons and my clientele decreased tremendously. I cried all the time, thinking maybe I shouldn’t have moved. Also considering going back to bartending since I wasn’t making much money. My now husband advised me to take some classes since I had more free time. I found so many free informative classes that allowed me to stand out from other stylist. This one year struggle allowed me to take my career to the next level. I then realized to see every struggle as a growing tool. What is this trying to teach me… learn and grow!
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Beauty by KaSh Salon – what should we know?
Beauty by KaSh Salon is a salon enhancing the beauty within. It’s not just about the health of the hair but I want each and every client to feel good about their overall health as well. I specialize in Color, Hair Loss, and Overall Health of the Hair. Also making sure the client is Educated on any issues that arise and educated on the upkeep of their hair.
I feel like my salon is set apart because I focus on one client at a time. I don’t overbook making sure the clients needs come first. Also being a Hair Loss Specialist I can look at the client’s scalp with a Hair Scope more closely. This allows me to take the necessary steps I need to take for proper care. I’m not your ordinary hairstylist.

My hairstylist Virgil McDaniel has helped guide me into this field and I will forever be grateful. I will also like to thank my family because they are SO supportive in whatever I do…from being my first clients to cheering me on in new adventures. Lastly, my husband who pushes daily. With him having his own business for ten years, he has been very helpful. He created my website, business cards, and anything else to grow my business.
