Meet Kassi Carter of JewelsByKC in Newnan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kassi Carter.

Kassi, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
One day I just thought about doing something big for myself. I’ve always been the reach for the stars type of girl. I love fashion and accessories. My major in college is business, and it’s something I’ve dreamt of having for awhile. One day I hope to have my own storefront for JewelsByKC. No one is going to do it for you. Being in college and working full time it wasn’t easy. I had to save a lot of money up and had a lot of factors that discouraged me. I started to think who am I… who would really think about supporting me. I went through a lot of self-doubts and it took some time to overcome. I’m glad that I got to the other side and pushed myself to do something amazing. I’m a very shy person, so it did help me get out of my shell. It’s my baby and I hope to grow more as a business and as a person.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It hasn’t been easy at all. I still have a lack of inspiration many times, but I try my best to overcome it. I just think of how far I am, and if I quit, then I gain nothing. Quitting doesn’t help me towards my goals. That’s just the type of person I am. I give my all in everything I do. I have breakdowns some days just trying to juggle working and attending school full time. Nothing worth having comes easy.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with JewelsByKC – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
JewelsByKC is all about completing your outfit and making you feel unstoppable. I hope my items gives woman a confidence boost when they put on their clothes. I specialize in necklaces, anklets, bracelets and many more. I also have a Men’s bracelet line as well. I’m most proud of how giving I am to my customers. I give out free items sometimes to show my appreciation. It’s not always about money to me. It’s about my heart and receiving blessings. The thing that sets me apart is not many small business jewelry stores cater to Men. I mentioned having a Men’s bracelet line. I want to grow that even more soon. My bracelets, necklaces, and anklets are all handmade. That is a big factor that sets me apart.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I have plans of having my own storefront for JewelsByKC. That is a major goal for me, including a boutique for clothes. I’m looking forward to setting higher goals and knocking them out one by one.
