

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kat Duncan.
Kat, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I grew up up Newnan, Georgia and attended the University of Georgia to study opera. Like many recent college graduates, I had no idea what I wanted to be when I ‘grew up,’ so I decided to start googling careers that fell in line with my personality and attributes. I have always been a people person, extremely organized, and was interested in working for myself. I realized a need in the Atlanta area for a company that provided professional organizing, moving assistance, unpacking services, and errand running services, so I decided to fill that need. As a result, UpTown Concierge was born.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
If anyone says quitting a regularly paying job to start your own company is easy, they are lying. Some days I stress myself out thinking that everything could crash and burn tomorrow, but I refuse to give up. I attribute my company’s success to our amazing clients. They are all so grateful for us, are so eager to refer us to their friends, and continue to hire us for all of their organizational, moving, or errand needs.

UpTown Concierge offers a wide variety of personal services for busy individuals, in Atlanta and New York City, who don’t have enough hours in their day. We will exceed your expectations with our professional organizing, moving assistance, errand running, administrative assistance, and more.
Our most popular service is professional organizing.- closets, playroom, office, kitchen, garage, etc. Our second most popular service is moving assistance- declutter, donate, hire packers and movers, oversee move, unpack all boxes, purchase organizational items, organize new home.
We also work with clients on a weekly and bi-weekly basis to maintain a consistently organized lifestyle.
Our exceptional service and wide array of services provided sets us apart from others. We also have the best clients around. We wouldn’t be where we are without them!
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Picking just one is impossible, but my favorite place in the world is my grandfather’s house in Beaufort, South Carolina. Spending time with my huge family, being overrun by everyones dogs, fishing off the dock, catching over 100+ pound stink rays, inside jokes with my cousins, watching my mom, aunts and grandmother laugh so hard they cry while cooking, and seeing every beautiful sunrise are the most precious memories!
