Today we’d like to introduce you to Katelynn Greene.
Katelynn, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Kate’s Mobile Bar all started during the Covid-19 pandemic. With the world slowing down, it really gave me time to figure out what it was that I really wanted to do–career wise. Bartending is something that I have done for many years, and it is also something that I have really enjoyed. I have always wanted to own my own mobile bar; I just wasn’t always sure what I wanted the vision to be. I knew I wanted to do everything myself, whatever I came up with. One day, I was looking at trailers online and decided I could create a really simplistic, yet creative, look by converting a horse trailer into my own functioning bar. Everyone around me thought I was nuts, but soon enough I was on my way to a small town in Alabama to pick up what was going to be my new bar! We met a really great family who sold us the trailer and brought it back home. I started working on the trailer right away with Papa, who helped guide me along the way and after two months, it was complete. Our bar has electricity throughout, as well as running water in our bar sink, shelves and cabinets for storage, and shiplap walls for clean aesthetic. It was our goal to create a trailer that is versatile and could be dressed up to fit in to any event. We started booking the trailer in July, and have been booked every weekend since. The trailer is great for any occasion, big or small, and is sure to bring a unique experience to any event!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Starting your own business is always challenging, but overall, the ride has been pretty smooth. We are still working on some social media branding, and our website will be live very soon, but overall, I am really happy with where the business is and hope to continue spreading the word! I think the most difficult part of starting a business is really getting the word out, and getting the product in front of people (especially during a pandemic).
Kate’s Mobile Bar – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Kate’s Mobile Bar is a converted horse trailer that provides a functional, yet aesthetically pleasing, full bar service to clients all across the state of Georgia. We specialize in craft cocktails and curating unique experiences for any event. Our bar features wood paneling on the sides and a live edge bar that is sure to impress your guests, along with decor that fits in seamlessly with your vision. For each event, we create a customized menu that is tailored to your crowd, and we always mix up cocktails that feature fresh ingredients that you, and your guests, will be sure to love!
As a company, we absolutely love meeting new people and clients. We really want to create a product that you are proud to share, as the host of the party, and truly aim to create a bar experience like never before. We are currently booking events through 2021, and look forward to being a part of your next celebration. Let the good times roll!
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
My definition of success is happiness. My overall goal, with this company, is to make others happy but also genuinely enjoy what I do. I absolutely thrive on having an impact on other people, even if it is in the smallest way. Throughout our journey, we continue to have happy clients that refer us to other people, and businesses, that can utilize our service. We also continue to collaborate with other companies, which has been so much fun and I hope to evolve and grow in positive way through those experiences as well. As long as I wake up and enjoy what I do, I feel like my definition of success has been fulfilled and I will continue this journey as long I can bring happiness to the community around me.
