Today, we’d like to introduce you to Kawanza Smith. Kawanza was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Ivory Chana Randall.
Kawanza, can you walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Graduating from James S. Rickards to graduating from FAMU’s Graphic Design program has honestly built the person that I am today. I’ve met some great people that can do wonderful things and it’s always a pleasure to be surrounded by them.
Please talk to us about your creative work and career. What should we know?
Im currently on a break with my work but I am always willing to pop out and help a friend with a logo or a design, if need be. Im constantly trying to learn new tricks and ways to become a better consistent artist. My instagram for my work is @thekasmith & is under construction but feel free to check it out!
Ivory Chana Randall has been a great friend to us and I know you’ve got a great relationship as well. Maybe you can tell our audience a bit about Ivory and your experience with them.
Being styled by Ivory is really an honor because my girl has some STYLE, okay?! My experience has always included the perfect playlist and a very chill vibe with her. Ivory’s eye for the perfect accessories to tie the styles together blows my mind & every time she comes to me with a new look, I’m always excited to see what she can and will pull off. The brand itself has become a favorite; from the meet ups of trying on different looks to seeing the outcome? It’s beautiful. The way she knows what I would look good in & how her photographer, Neri, is always capturing the right angles, it’s ALWAYS gonna be a hit. Seeing her grow into a fashion guru is really amazing because it’s something I’ve actually watched flourish since high school. I’ve always loved Ivory’s style cause she gone always put it on! I’m so proud of her and what she’s accomplished so far; I know she’s gonna do great things and be a great person!
