Thanks for sharing your story with us Kayla. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve always had a passion for running my own business and as I was working for different employers, I came to realize that that wouldn’t be best for me because I don’t like wasting my time on things if my future can’t benefit. Moving forward to three years ago, I decided to make my own route as an entrepreneur. That’s how the lavish lounge for nails/hair and the lavish lashes came about. I chose the butterfly for my brand because this was my way of truly flourishing into myself and who God has called me to be in this journey.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Nothing comes easy when it comes to running a business. I’ve had people steal from me, tamper with legal documents, I’ve had people harass and stalk me over my business just because I had reached a level they tried their best to stop me from reaching, but through all of it I still have people supporting me, my business is flourishing, and I still have opportunities like this knocking at my door pushing me through anything that tried to tear me down. I’m grateful for the growth it brought me.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the The Lavish Lash story. Tell us more about the business.
The lavish lounge is a beauty salon for all your nail and hair needs. I graduated from cosmetology school almost two years ago and knew that I wanted to open up my very own one-stop-shop for all women to come in and feel beautiful and look lavish.
The lavish lash is a 100% mink, 20 mm to 25 mm, lash strips business. We specialize in all things beauty so I’ve partnered with my mother and daughter brand “Just BeeYOUtiful” to sell lip gloss, natural skincare products and more. What sets me apart the most is my passion for growing this business, I feel that my purpose is to connect with others to help make them better and help them feel better about themselves through my products and through my services.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I honestly don’t believe in luck, I believe in favor. I feel that my purpose has been to serve my spirituality and serve who is most important to me by doing what I love and that comes with living in my purpose everyday. That comes with living right and doing all things that I know will only benefit me positively. That’s why the butterfly is such a significance to my brand because I was only a caterpillar trying to figure out my way. I started to learn, I started to separate myself, I started to bloom in that cocoon. Now I’m here looking back at the journey like “wow. I’m really here. I really did it.” Then when I was fully ready to push my brand and actually put myself out there, I became that butterfly. I’m still going because of the change I see in others after every service or purchase.
