Keionna, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
It was scary at first, but I was working for a small pool hall. Work was good but I knew I wanted to work for myself. The owner of the pool house made me really mad because she accused me of stealing and that’s when I had enough. I told her I quit and that night, I knew I had to do something fast. I have a son. I have bills. So I woke up in the middle of the night and told myself I will start a cleaning business.
My Instagram name has always been Marvelous Key so I decided to brand that name so I name my business Marvelous Keys Cleaning. I made an Instagram in the middle of the night and started following people from all over and the next morning, I had two people reach out to me and booked a cleaning. I went and got cleaning supplies and stuffed my car and went and cleaned my butt off. I took before and after pictures and got my first two clients to leave me a review through text messages and they also shouted me out on Instagram and from there, my bookings were flowing. I started promoting more and made a short commercial for the business and starting making my business legit starting from nothing and now I’m here.
Has it been a smooth road?
No, there was days I did not get any bookings, which mean money wasn’t not coming in. Those was my scary days when I felt like I wasn’t doesn’t something right. I had clients that I just couldn’t please and that kind of hurt and made me want to give up but I kept pushing.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Marvelous Keys Cleaning story. Tell us more about the business.
I run a commercial/residential cleaning business. My team cleans Airbnb’s office space, homes, apartments and business. My team listens to what our clients want and get the job done, we make sure our clients are pleased. We will be sure we always do a Marvelous job to make sure clients continue to book with the best cleaners.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see my team growing and getting more contracts with big company’s. And our name Marvelous Keys Cleaning, be heard all over. I would be like to expand my company all over and not just the Atlanta area.
