Meet Keisha Crawford of Laugh Out Loud Solutions in Tucker

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keisha Crawford.

Keisha, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I became a registered nurse because I love helping people.  Since I was a child, I’ve always loved entertaining people and seeing them laugh.  But, after 12 years of working as a registered nurse, I noticed that I was coming home frustrated, worn out, and had very little time and energy to devote to my family. I was giving the best of me at work and my family got the sloppy leftovers. Not only was I frustrated, but the majority of my coworkers were as well.  With every job I’ve worked, my coworkers told me how much they enjoyed working with me, because I brought the “fun factor.”   Throughout the years, I had been designated the unofficial “employee advocate.”  They appreciated my comedic approach to tackle our concerns.  In 2015, I began to seek God for my purpose. That’s when I realized that laughter was my way of helping people.  It’s free medicine and you can never overdose!

In 2016, God spoke Laugh Out Loud Solutions, LLC to me. Two months later, I left my job and began to work on starting my business.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. One of the struggles has been lack of finances to pay for things that are necessary for start-ups like contracts, licensing, a website, etc. Another struggle has been self-doubt. When I put my resignation in at my old job, all of these questions went through my mind: “Am I good enough?, “Am I crazy?”, “Who is going to need my services?”

Laugh Out Loud Solutions – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Laugh Out Loud Solutions, LLC is a family based company. We provide on site entertainment and an atmosphere where employees can escape the sometimes overwhelming monotony and come back to work revitalized.  We  also create customized employee appreciation programs to employers who are looking to improve workplace morale and employee retention. This can be a one time service or an ongoing service. We specialize in costumed entertainment, whether it be karaoke or performing skits, people know us for both.  We also have a passion for helping families remain connected.  Skit therapy is an activity aimed at improving communication, strengthening bonds, and adding fun to your relationships.  It’s a way to attack issues with a comedic spin.  It’s not always easy when others point out your flaws and mistakes, so this is a way for others to see themselves in action from another’s perspective.  It’s a great team building workshop.  We are most proud of the messages we receive from people saying how the performance and/ or pictures they’ve seen brightened their day or lifted their spirit.  There are so many people who are going through so much that they haven’t smiled, laughed or felt good in a very long time, especially at work.  Being able to make genuine connections and form relationships with people sets Laugh Out Loud Solutions apart from others. People want to know that you actually care about what they are going through. When a person/company can show compassion, love, and a real interest in their situation, an impact can be made.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I personally define success as living purposefully and witnessing the great impact that results from it. Life is about service and helping others. Along with that, I have to do things that align with my faith. I also have to make sure my marriage and relationship with my children and the rest of my family are not neglected. These rank high on my list of success criteria.
