Meet Keith Andrews of The Outsiders Film Group in Downtown Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keith Andrews.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Keith. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started in 2012 after I left college. I’ve always wanted to film since I was a little kid but coming from a single-parent home of four, money had to go to the priorities like bills, clothes, etc. When I decided to fully purse filming, I had to work three jobs with help from my brother to purchase my first camera… a Canon t3i and a MacBook 2012 pro. Since then, I’ve filmed for names like Atlanta legends Pastor Troy and Bankroll Fresh. Various promotions like Viral Pro Wrestling, Intense Pro Wrestling, Palmetto Championship wrestling (who gave me my start in filming wrestling), and Masters of Ring Entertainment where I’ve been blessed to film names like WWE Hall of Famer Billy Gunn, AEW Stars Christopher Daniels, Cody Vance and more.

Music videos and wrestling were my coping mechanisms when I was a kid since my father was absent, so wrestlers and people in music videos were larger than life characters who I looked up to.

Has it been a smooth road?
It definitely wasn’t a smooth road, having to work three jobs to get my first set of equipment because my mom really couldn’t help out, but I never let my financial struggle be an excuse for what I don’t have. I used it as motivation to be the best at what I do have. I’ve moved to multiple places only to have to come back home because things didn’t go as planned, but again, it’s never an excuse… it’s motivation to keep on pushing.

The Outsiders Film Group – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We specialize in sports videography, commercials and music videos and we are known for our customer service and making the client and everyone involved be REALLY hands-on with the project. We always ask, “what do you want to do” during shoots.

What we’re proud of to date is that we’ve motivated kids from our small town to pick up and camera and start filming. Even though it’s harder for them to get the exposure coming from a small county of 3,000 people, it still feels good to see a new generation of filmmakers. What sets us apart is we pride ourselves on being different creatively, we see the masses are doing and we make it our pride go in the other direction.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Filming and videos is gonna be even bigger than it already is with platforms like TikTok, snapchat, IG, FB Watch, Streaming services, all flourishing. Digital marketing is the way of the world and we’re glad to be apart of it.
