Meet Keivon Patterson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keivon Patterson.

Keivon, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am Keivon Jua’Harine Patterson. I’m twenty-five years old and I’m from Birmingham, AL. I have my Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications: Radio/TV and Theater Arts: Performance from Alabama State University. It was there when I first realized that I wanted to be in the entertainment industry as far as professional modeling, acting, hosting, and dancing and I’ve been working ever since then trying to make those dreams come true. And those seeds a planted are now beginning to flourish. I’ve done numerous of photoshoots, fashion shows, and acting jobs as an extra in Atlanta.

And I currently work for FameLive Magazine of Atlanta, GA as a Host/Writer and a Brand Ambassador for D’Marie’s Fashion of Atlanta, GA as well. Although I do a lot of work in Atlanta, I currently work for the Birmingham Social Security Administration as a customer service representative and I also work part-time for a radio station, V94.9, Where the V stands for Variety as a social media/podcast assistant and host, in my hometown which is where I live at the moment but I will be moving to Atlanta in October to focus on my career full time. I am currently commuting back and forth and have been for years since I first started seeking a professional career and with everything finally out of the way. I thought what better time to make that full voyage time.

Has it been a smooth road?
It hasn’t been easy at all, I’ve been working on my professional career going on about three years now and I’m not even close to where I want to be. But I know once I’m actually living in the city and get with great agent, things will begin to start moving a little faster for me because I have the talent just not the resources at the moment. I have faith and God so I know it will prosper eventually.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
Well, I’m a self-brand. I’m an actor, model, host, dancer, writer, socialite, and an overall entertainer. I’m a one-man-army and I wear many hats as you can see so that alone sets me apart from others and it also shows that I’m driven. It’s been plenty of roles and photoshoots/shows that I wasn’t picked for but that hasn’t stopped me and my grind for it will never stop until I’m there and I can finally say that I’ve arrived as a professional entertainer in the industry. So that’ what I a most proud of, my grind. I’m also writing/producing a web-series titled, “The Hood,” based in Birmingham, AL that I will star in as well and it will be on YouTube for viewers to see. So definitely be on the lookout for that as well.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Atlanta, GA was founded for many young, hungry, and vibrant creative artists, entrepreneurs, etc. such as myself could come to and seek and accomplish that dream. I would definitely recommend anyone to move to Atlanta if you want to make a change in life or career or both. Although people may say Atlanta is overcrowded, the amount of opportunity is there for everyone to eat.
