Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelley Anderson.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I first experienced Massage Therapy when I was in my 20’s and was instantly impressed with the immediate benefits I felt. I continued to enjoy occasional massage sessions for a few years but it wasn’t until 2006, when I found myself a single mom of 4, that I could appreciate the flexibility in my massage therapist and fully come to appreciate the overall dynamic of the Massage Profession.
From the moment I walked through the door and was warmly greeted by my therapist, to being able to have a moment away from the daily chaos of life, to just being able to have one hour that was devoted specifically for ME, that is when I began to have an interest in becoming a Massage Therapist.
Once in school, I then realized that pursuing a career In Massage Therapy would ultimately ensure that I could provide for my family while actively being involved in my children’s lives and their extracurricular activities.
In 2010 I was given the opportunity to teach the program and it was during those years as an instructor that my love for Massage Therapy intensified while actively making a difference in the lives of the wonderful students I had the privilege to teach. Although I enjoyed teaching a career I was passionate about, I felt as though something was missing. It didn’t take long to realize that the “something” that was missing was my desire to provide quality therapeutic bodywork through positive touch to the public.
Along with this incredible journey, I began to basically feel that I was neglecting what I had felt to do all along, which was to provide quality therapeutic positive touch to the general public. This is when I began to develop a business plan for my future in turning my ultimate goal into a reality.
During this time I was fortunate to be blessed with a beautiful granddaughter who instantly became the center of my universe. So when creating my business plan, it was highly important to me that the name means as much to me as my love for massage therapy and the one thing I love more than the profession is my family. So it was not until spending a day with my granddaughter, who was uniquely named Aurora Falls, that it hit me, the name of my business had been there all along in the form of this little girl. Thus Aurora Falls Day Spa was named!
What started as one woman pursuing her dreams and desire to share positive touch with others in an upstairs studio, has now grown to a team, consisting of like-minded Therapists, Energy Workers, and Estheticians and has proudly expanded to a larger facility to more adequately accommodate the services provided.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When I look over the last 3 years since I started the business, nothing major comes to mind in regard to struggles. The business has had what I consider the normal ups and downs that every business faces. I practiced a lot of laws of attraction exercises and prayed really hard through the slow times!
It wasn’t until this past summer that I faced the biggest challenge of my life. After breaking my leg in June that required surgery, my 19 year old son was severely injured that resulted in full paralysis and living in the hospital for 2 months. When you go through something so life-altering, it’s almost impossible to focus on anything else other than your loved one.
I look back now and am sure that It is because of my Spa Manager (who is also my beautiful daughter), my amazing team of therapists who worked and took on my clientele along with theirs, and my amazing clientele who continued to support Aurora Falls, the business survived.

We offer different styles of massage therapy, energy work, and skin care. Whether you’re here for bodywork or skincare, each session is tailored especially for you. Our space can also accommodate couples and small groups.
I am most proud of the reputation we have built in regards to how we make people feel while they’re at Aurora Falls. I know all too well about stress and the struggles people go through on a daily basis. For me, it was important from the beginning of my business planning that I create an atmosphere and an experience that could offset that, even if it is just for one hour.
I think what sets us apart from others is that every one of us at Aurora Falls sincerely cares about each client and what they’re going through at the time.
