Meet Kelly Hernandez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Hernandez.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I graduated from Gwinnett Tech with a degree in Commercial Photography. I’m married and have a 5 year old son. I’ve always loved the art of photography both in front and behind the camera. As I stepped behind the camera though, I found my passion. I have a tremendous love for family and that’s what I hope is reflected in the kind of shots I take. I specialize in family and newborn photography but I love capturing weddings. Maybe I just love, love. Whether it’s a bride walking down the aisle, a newborn or a sweet family, I truly love being able to freeze time. Life goes by so fast, what better way to remember those moments than with the help of a photograph.

Please tell us about your art.
When I’m hired to photograph a family, my goal is to supply them with images that will make them happy of course but also to freeze time. Time flies by when you have children and being able to capture their sweet chubby checks or a sweet new family’s first photo as a family, I feel truly fortunate to be a part of it. There’s nothing better than watching a family evolve and grow. That these images will grace the walls of their home and the generations after them makes me so happy as an artist.

Given everything that is going on in the world today, do you think the role of artists has changed? How do local, national or international events and issues affect your art?
It reminds me of how important what I am hired to do is. Our society has become a very scary place. We are not promised tomorrow so capturing milestones or the everyday with your loved ones is so important.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
I’m a mobile studio that will meet them on location or in their home. They can support me by hiring me to photograph them and their families.
