Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendall Jones.
Kendall, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started my business, dallfaceframes, as a senior in high school in spring of 2018. I was 17 years old, honor student-athlete and a member of various organizations. I kept multiple jobs at a time throughout my high school career. My final job was a hostess position at a local restaurant. Where I was asked to clean the sanitary wastebasket in the restroom or clock out. Like anyone with common sense, I clocked out. Shortly after, I came up with an idea for a company and by June of 2018, Dallfaceframes was brought to life; my business now gives me the platform to give others the guidance in becoming the businessmen and women they aspire to be. While also giving them the boost of confidence, they didn’t know they needed.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Running a business is never going to be peaches and cream. Your biggest teacher is going to be experienced. My biggest obstacle thus far have definitely been money management. As a young adult, when you start receiving large amounts of money in short spans of time, your first instinct is to spend and not save. Over time I have definitely taught myself how to break my money down so that I’m able to save, spend, restock and then some of I want. Another challenge for me in the beginning is establishing an audience. When first starting my business, I didn’t know who to appeal to first and how. My secret now is HASHTAGS! Hashtags may seem lame and annoying but they help you reach so many differ by accounts on social media you sound even think of. Especially being that some of them are location-based, you can tag the whole world under your picture for everyone to see. So, for example, if you click on #sun… my glasses may pop up but I live in Atlanta and you may stay in Brazil. That’s literally how they work; it’s so dope and you’ll start to see the area codes you’ve been tagging in your sales.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Dallfaceframes story. Tell us more about the business.
My Brand DallfaceFrames offers luxury sunglasses for Men and Woman. I also have a wholesale program which provides wholesale services to anyone interested in starting their own sunglass business. Last but not least, I also offer 101 Business Workshops for anyone interested in starting their own business. My workshop offers all the essentials you will need to begin starting the foundation for your business. Workshops will not only show you how to build the foundation of your business but, most importantly, keep it running. So far, I’ve help build the foundation for over 20+ business. I plan to launch that as it’s own business in the spring of 2021.
What sets me and my business apart from others is that my business thrives off making other feel good and helping those who can’t help themselves. I want people to know that when they come to me, business is going to be handled. It’ll be some fun but we will get to our money and handle our business first. As a company, I am most proud of the number of company’s I have started in such a short time span. I just started offering business workshops in March and I’ve already helped create the foundation for over 20+ business in the span of six months. To me, that’s major. I can’t wait to see how many I’ll have after I branch that off into its own.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Luck hasn’t played a role in my success as a business at all. It’s taken a lot of late nights, long cries, prayer and definitely faith. Like anything running, a business takes dedication and consistency and they more dedicated and consistent you are, everything else will fall into place in its own time.
