Kenneth, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Hey, I’m Kenneth Smith! I’ve been a Master Barber for 3/12 to four years! I’ve always worked in other salons/barbershops throughout the years and had always known I deserved my very own Barbershop! Dealing with life in knowing everything you believe can happen if you continue to remain positive and inspired! My journey to ownership finally happened when I continue to believe in myself and now use this very own platform to reach others by speaking to them about doing the same thing!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t, it usually never is being that it seems as if you have to go through some struggle to reap the reward! I feel I struggled with not feeling valued! Knowing my work insufficient and having more to offer! Self doubt was an issue I felt was a hindrance to me as well! Constantly having to remind myself of my importance and relevance and what I had to offer the barbering industry.
Please tell us about your business.
I have a barbershop shop offering barbering services to all of our public! I specialize in razor cuts and razor detail lining. I’m most proud of the vision coming to the past! Having my location whereas I’m the one in charge and who makes all the decisions! It’s the freedom of working for yourself!! I feel there so many characteristics that set me apart from others, that is professionalism, having a great personality and also someone that’s speaking as well as listens.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Professionalism and a great attitude and knowing that everyone deserves the utmost respect! Persistence and consistency are key as well!
