Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenny Kim.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have been in business since 2006 here in Marietta. We started off small at the intersection of Barrett Pkwy and Dallas Hwy eventually expanding to our current location off of Whitlock Ave. We have over 5000 sq ft of space dedicated in helping everyone from children to adults in reaching their martial arts goal. It took us a few years but now with close to 300 students actively training we are one of the biggest and professional BJJ academies in the Atlanta area.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Just as in any endeavor it wasn’t always easy but just as the martial arts taught me, consistency and patience played a big role in where we are today. In the past 13 years, we have had great people come through our academy some of whom still train with us and some of whom who influenced us to be who we are today.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Kenny Kim Brazilian Jiu Jitsu story. Tell us more about the business.
We offer Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instruction in a clean, positive, and encouraging atmosphere with multiple qualified instructors and class times throughout the week. Men, Women, and Children all can partake in our classes as we offer separate classes for each group. Our academy focuses on the growth of each student by individualize attention and group support.
Our academy is in a class A shopping center with plenty of parking and lights. We have complimentary towel service, showers, mens and women’s locker room, lobby with plenty of seating, wifi, and a full pro shop for training needs.
