Today we’d like to introduce you to Kent.
Kent, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born to create. At the age of four, I knew I wanted to be an artist. My love of art and the outdoors have always been a passion.
In 2009, after working in the corporate marketing and advertising world as a graphic designer and illustrator, I received a grant from the Georgia Grassroots Arts Program. The program is supported in part by the Georgia Council for the Arts through an appropriation of the Georgia General Assembly. ARTSCAPE! And Friends for the East Cobb Park became instant partners. For nearly 9 years, ARTSCAPE! Classes, workshops and camps have been growing at East Cobb Park in East Cobb, Marietta.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
99% of my journey with ARTSCAPE! has been smooth. I certainly cannot complain about anything life throws my way; I have decided to use my talent to help others realize how special & creative they are in this world.
ARTSCAPE! – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am very proud of ARTSCAPE! For the past 9+ years, I have been passionately working towards making the program better for all children. I specialize in teaching art history & art techniques in an outdoor setting. I am incorporating more of today’s artists into my lessons in addition to connecting most lessons with nature. We sketch, paint, sculpt, play and enjoy art outside.
