Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin C. Pride.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Kevin. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My entire life I have been an entrepreneur. Building someone else’s dream has never appealed to me. In Feb of 2012, I finally got my chance I guess you could say. It did not come in the form of some aha moment or some grand speech, no I was fired from my position. At the time, I did not know it would turn out to be the greatest opportunity ever given to me, no I was like most, scared shitless. You see at that time I was married with a child in pre-k or should I say an obligation of 700 bucks per month on top of all my other bills as well as my wife just giving birth to my youngest daughter. Not the best timing if you know what I mean. Months before being fired I had this nagging feeling that I just didn’t want to do what I was doing anymore. Not to mention I made the company over 3 million dollars not even knowing what I was really doing and didn’t even receive the smallest bonus. I mean can you say wake up call. So after being let go from a good paying corporate job I decided to use my skills for myself. I knew if I could make that type of money for someone else I had to be able to make it for myself. So I gathered inventory of all the skills I possessed and ended up creating design and marketing company. I started out working for friends and family and anyone else that would pay me, lol. I made all kinds of mistakes, under cut my prices, missed opportunities, spent too much on equipment and too little on marketing. Trust me I have my share of failures, but there is something special about entrepreneurs, we don’t know when to quit, hell, we don’t even know how. But to fast forward to today, I am a web designer and internet marketing professional. I enjoy a great life and have the ability to work from wherever, whenever I want and I am truly grateful for life and everything it has given me.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Looking back, the biggest obstacle were the ones I created for myself. The hardest thing about being an entrepreneur is constantly overcoming fear. People tend to think of all the external things like money and situations as the obstacles in life, but they are not. It’s the internal thoughts and emotions that create and shape our paths in life. Fear is a powerful emotion that almost always creates exactly what you fear most. Knowing this we must always strive to overcome our fears as entrepreneurs. Things like lack of finances, people, knowledge, resources all stem from the fear that you do not have them. Fear is what creates lack of money, lack of resources, this one emotion alone will create more problems in your business and personal life than you can handle. We have to learn to think only of the result we want and nothing else. Then we will see the result we want. Learning that was my biggest obstacle.
So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Pridek Design Lab story. Tell us more about the business.

There is a specific mindset for success and it must be obtained by everyone who truly wants to be successful.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t see things as being luck in my life. My life is a measure of what I create it to be. Luck doesn’t play a part in it. It is the knowing that creates for me all of the opportunities I enjoy. I know my life to be a certain way, therefore my life is that way. I try to expose people to the truth of life. A truth that has been hidden and misrepresented. Life is done unto you as you believe. Therefore, if you believe yourself to be successful, then life must show that to you. It is just that simple. You see, we will vividly believe something bad to happen and create it almost every time not knowing that we can just as well create something extraordinary using the same principle of knowing.
