Meet Kevin “KD” Davis Jr.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin “KD” Davis Jr.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
My story is unique in its own way, starting with me being born in Montgomery Al, to two hard working parents. As a child, my other (2) siblings & I would be awakened by our Dad listening to different genre’s of music from Journey, Chicago, Billy Joel, Jonathan Butler, Michael Jackson, Beetles, Elton John and a host of other Artist and musicians. Music is a part of my family with both of my parents growing up and participating in their school bands. My grandmother played the piano and my great aunt was a professional Blues Singer. So, my love for music came deeply from my family roots.

My younger sister is an upcoming RnB Artist, Keianna Nicole; my father plays guitar and my younger brother, Brandon Davis is also a creator. We all share a love for music. I received my first keyboard in 4th grade and from that point, I’ve spent countless hours, perfecting my craft. After graduating from high school, I attended the University of North Alabama with a major in Music Business Management. It was at that time, I bonded with fellow producers Macy Miller and Kevin “KT” Taylor. I relocated to Georgia in 2015 and immediately hit the ground running.

Before relocating, I would make trips from Huntsville Al to Atlanta to work with hip hop artists Jabo, just for the day and go back home to Alabama once we wrapped up. We’ve been working together heavy since that time and have a lot of unreleased music. Just recently, I’ve worked and produced projects with Artist/ Songwritter , Pricilla Renea as well as produced records for TI, Gucci Mane, Ace Hood, P Nazty, Redd Cold Hearted, Translee, Evol Idol, Sparoh, & Bl$$d.

Last year, I started my production company 10Nineteen Productions and have been collaborating / developing new talent from Atlanta all the way to St. Louis. As the new year approaches, I’m looking to expand also as a Recording Artist, so stay tuned.

Please tell us about your art.
I am a Professional Music Producer located in Atlanta, GA. I like to say that all my music is a single moment in time captured through rhythm and beats. My work is unique yet simple. I try to make sure to soak up the surroundings and vibes as best possible and make the listener feel as if they’re in the driver’s seat. I do this by keeping myself surrounded by energetic, optimistic and supportive individuals. The biggest takeaway that I hope listeners gather from my work is that anything is possible despite how cliche it may sound. As long as you visualize what you desire, stay positive and work towards manifesting your dreams and goals into reality, everything will fall into place. You just have to put in the work.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing artists today?
I believe one of the biggest challenges is setting the proper expectations for people. This being family, friends, business associates. I face these challenges by always picturing the best possible outcome possible no matter how things may appear in the present moment. You have to remain determined to find the silver lining in every situation.
