Today we’d like to introduce you to Kewl Cali.
Hi Kewl, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born in California on Oct 17th, 1989. Mother Dies at the age of two do to complications from drug use. At the age of nine was taken into Childer services. Growing up in Pasadena, CA in the system was a difficult situation. Causing me to believe I wouldn’t live to see the age 21. With ties to Tuskegee, AL I move. Facing incarceration at the age of 17, I departed to Atlanta, GA for a second chance.
Music always been a major part of my life, I found I had a natural talent. When I arrive in Atlanta Music scene was next level. So I decided to take it serious.
Fast forward some years, talking to a mentor I discussed where I came from and there the idea was created to give back to people that come from the same background as myself. There Fostered Foundation Inc. was created.
Where I can continue to do music and also you my talents to promote a better way of living for the in the system and aboard.
First-year partnering with Government Officials and brands like Nike and Walmart reaching over 700 youth throughout GA.
As I continue to chase my dreams, I inspire and encourage people to Dream Bigger and go after theirs.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
No at all, growing up in the system resources are few if any.
There is so much needed. Mental health is overlooked, caseworkers per case are terribly overwhelmed. Then you added the growth of just life itself, it can be a scary place
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a network analyst by trade recording artist and Philanthropist.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Personal growth and community wellness will be at the forefront.
As time passes, information is shared but I turn pushing us forward. I truly believe the right information is started to be heard.
