Today we’d like to introduce you to Khadeem Thomas.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Growing up all over South Atlanta, I knew that there was something wrong with how we, as in humanity, were and are living. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it but the older I got the more detached I was from society. It wasn’t until I left for college and seen even more than I decided I needed to do something different. So I began reading the Bible at 21 and withdrawing from school.
From the Bible I seen that in the beginning, humans weren’t holding jobs, working at corporations, or going to school, they were farming the land. Then it dawned on me that I was to do the same. Inspired by the Bible, I began to grow produce and immediately I noticed a difference in the look and taste of the food. I began to shop at farmer’s markets and staying away from large grocery stores any chance I could. From there I understood that the illnesses we experience today is in large part due to what we consume from food to music, to television. It all needs to change and I want to be a part of that change. The more I learned, the more I wanted to share. The more I had to learn about myself in order to feel confident sharing what I know. I had to walk a path that I hadn’t seen walked before. I had to be authentic to me as I served God.
Today, I am a published author with my first book, God: A Path to Righteousness which has received overwhelming success. I am a gardener, expanding my range of produce each year and every season. Today I am growing over 20 different fruits, vegetables, and herbs. Today I am an artist, with several songs currently accessible through weRICHeous.com. I serve the same messages in conversation as I do in my book and the same in my music. I seek to help others realize their power to influence all creating change.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, this journey has not been easy. The main struggle I have faced during the process is discovering my identity. I needed to find out who I was and am which is an issue a lot of people endure. Beginning with my first, middle and last name, I discovered the origin sand meanings. And from there, I went on to research my birthdate and everything surrounding it. I looked into my zodiac sign and not just my sun sign like many others. I wanted to know what my full natal chart had to say. I also looked into numerology as well. And the combination of all of these different perspectives showed me who I am.
Yes, we know ourselves but we don’t always know how to describe ourselves. Doing so much research on myself showed me who I was from different perspectives and I saw how the information overlapped to sometimes repeat what I’d seen before. This is how I was able to verify that what I was reading was true, also I could recognize the descriptions. With all of this information and knowledge, I was able to retrieve the words to describe myself and explain myself to myself. It took a lot of discipline and consistency but I was an interesting topic to study.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the weRICHeous story. Tell us more about the business.
weRICHeous (we righteous), exemplifies who I am and what I represent. I am a bridge between people from different backgrounds and specializations and together we become ‘we’. We have conversations about how to acknowledge and expound on the riches inside of us. That is why ‘RICH’ is inside of ‘-eous’. Also RICH doubles as an acronym Revelation Inspired Creators Here which describes who we are and who we become when we unite together.
Our initial focus is agriculture because we believe that food is medicine and it is the cause of the dis-ease we experience as a culture. As young people of color, we also need to document the entire process and from there comes a photography and videography component. We specialize in nature photography and documenting events because “we capture moments”. We create art because we are art. From books, to music, to drawings and paintings, and even animations!
Together we feel that we can reset not only our lives but those in our communities as well to recognize that “we are Healthy, Wealthy, and Full of Love”. This is he message we stand by and preach because this is who we are!
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I’m not a believer in luck because I am a God fearing man. So instead of luck, I prefer to believe that I am blessed, actually beyond blessed! And being blessed has played a HUGE role in my success throughout life and business. I find myself in rooms, shaking hands and expounding on the vision with people that have the influence and power to manifest it. There’s too much purpose I recognize to rely on luck. Luck would make it appear as if things happen by chance and I simply do not believe that. That would suggest that being born is a thing of luck because the odds of being born are astronomically low, like 1 in 400 trillion low. So I don’t believe in luck, good or bad, just blessings and fate.
