Meet Khadir Chambers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Khadir Chambers.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve grown up with art around me. My mom is a Dancer and an educator, my dad is a drummer who made a name in Atlanta. I started as a dancer and my mom sent me to piano lessons and I fell in love with doing talent shows and performing slowly. I just started falling in love with the art of creating things that give people an experience and I can express what on my mind so I paint, make music and dance, just doing castings, flyers and painting to fund my career as a musical artist.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been up and down, I enjoy doing what I love at any level so that’s always making life better. The struggles I face come from seeing my family go through problems, I come from a middle-class home with a father and mother and growing up, I saw us move from smaller apartments to nicer homes so I’ve always believed in better days but I can say money and emotional strain from heartbreak, and family has been the biggest struggles.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m an artist in all senses of the word. I enjoy learning the art of doing things and creating art whether I’m dancing, rapping or painting, I want you to feel something and appreciate the experience of my expression. For labeling purposes, I’m a performer first and a creative director second. I enjoy spending my time helping people turn their ideas into digestible conceptual art pieces.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My mom, and dad and my teachers in middle school at New Life Academy of excellence. Mr. Parrot, my science teacher, Mr.Golden, my math teacher and Mrs. Blackshire, my English teacher all impacted the person I am today, they all closely educated me for two years in a close-knit environment so I can say that we’re the most instrumental. My brothers always show love and keep me going. I always have to shout out my team (my close friends) because I wouldn’t have the confidence I have without them.
