Today we’d like to introduce you to Khari Siebie.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Khari. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Growing up I have always been drawn to the Kitchen, my mother tells me often how she would never have to worry about feeding me if I was hungry because I would make my way to the kitchen to feed myself. This later moved from just feeding myself to feeding other people, I grew a love in seeing people’s reactions to my cooking. I went from cooking for myself to cooking for my family, eventually having a lead position in my father’s restaurant as a chef at age 17. I moved from Atlanta to Auburn, Alabama where I made life long connections which pushed my passion for cooking into a business. Cooking for college students made me realize it was a lot easier to feed yourself on a budget by cooking rather than buying food out from other restaurants, this fueled my idea “KookinWitKhari”, Not only is this a meal prep and catering service, this is a way I use to teach my peers how to eat well within your budget! I make recipes and weekly grocery lists that I send out to people who subscribe to the services.
Has it been a smooth road?
Life is far from a smooth road, one thing I will say about life is you have to be consistent. There is nothing more important than knowledge so always be open for criticism and advice. One thing I struggled along the way with was making sure my meals were healthy while staying in budget, I have lost a substantial amount of weight due to my diet and getting it within a budget that your average 24 year old can afford was difficult yet sweet to enjoy once I overcame that.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
KookinWitKhari provides meal prepping and catering services. I host events with my partner JT ” The Dapper Chef” named “A Khopped Experience” we have had three events so far (Birmingham, Auburn Al, and Atlanta). I do personal chef services and meals for couples and hold classes for men and women who want to learn how to cook with a budget!
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, Atlanta is a great place for my business. I bring people together with food, nothing better than meeting and connecting with someone over a great plate of food and a good drink! Atlanta provides the diversity alongside the culture that allows this company to move with the flow of the city.
