Today we’d like to introduce you to Khia Monique.
Khia, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Last year, in July, I had started my first business selling lashes. I never really got into selling lashes so I had stopped in November. When I had stopped, I started figuring out what I’ll really be interested in selling. Beginning of 2020, I thought about selling skin care products and jewelry since I love having my skin clear and love wearing jewelry. In April, I had dropped my very first skin product, which had been the “Elegant Rose Oil.” After seeing how good it had went, I dropped more skin care products that I hand make myself with organic ingredients. I started selling jewelry as in charm bracelets and healing crystal bracelets. Ever since then, I have continued to sell skincare products and jewelry and I am looking forward into dropping more products.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The start of my business wasn’t as smooth, but that’s normal for most small businesses. You have to promote yourself so you can get customers and make money. Especially for my business since it’s skincare, I had to show results of my skin to let people know that my products really work. Jewelry talks for itself so that wasn’t hard to promote.
KM LUXURY – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
For my business, I sell organic skin products that are all handmade by me with organic ingredients. I make the products for all types of skin especially sensitive skin like mine. I’m happy to make others feel good in their skin and make their skin look good. I am happy to help others that couldn’t find anything to clear their skin and moisturize their skin. I feel like when you’re into the entrepreneur life, you can’t just think about the money because your products matter more. Your products are the main thing to your business because that’s what brings in your customers. That’s what I think set me aside from others.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is when you finally get to the point or maybe a little more farther than where you were aiming to be at, and also when you’re finally satisfied with your business and you feel more accomplished. My criteria is honestly to educate myself, have more business plans and keep the passion I have in myself for my business(es.) I like to take both of my successes and failures and learn from both to put knowledge into my future situations.
