Meet Kia Lola of Lola Land Photography in Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kia Lola.

Kia, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Lola Land Photography is an Atlanta based premier photography studio run by me, Kia Lola. I opened the studio doors in downtown Atlanta after spending five years in the fashion industry (Creative Director of Eco Mode Couture and Art Director of Revolutionary Runway), three in the fine arts field (selected as Art Lab featured artist and exhibited in the Russian Cultural Center), and the next years with athletes (promotional pieces for UFC and Bellator MMA fighters). The studio has since narrowed its focus to three primary specialties: athletics, headshots and boudoir.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The biggest struggle was definitely during college when finances were extremely thin in a very expensive field. Back in those days, I was working for free with a runway company for experience, taking over full-time in classes and living off a $20 a week food budget (could only get away with that in Memphis, TN, I think). I was fortunate enough to receive a job offer right after college, photographing for a commercial textiles company that produced content for companies ranging from Target to Nordstrom.

It didn’t take long for me to branch out and open my own brick and mortar studio, Lola Land Photography. I already had years of field experience, so it was just a matter of solidifying a location. The growth has been swift and a really thrilling experience, so I couldn’t complain one bit about the journey it has led me on.

Lola Land has three primary departments: Fitness, Headshots and Boudoir.

Having clients ranging from UFC’s Bigfoot Silva to local advertising agency, Agency 352, I promise quality, originality, professionalism and timely delivery of images. When working with me, clients can expect brainstorming pre-shoot to develop concepts for the most iconic images possible and an opportunity to review shots mid shoot to ensure that the correct vision is being captured. It is the goal of Lola Land Photography to ensure that each shoot takes minimum time and yields maximum client satisfaction.

I am extremely proud of the quality/professionalism of this studio along with the level of clientele it has attracted. As mentioned before, I have had the honor or photographing UFC’s, Bigfoot Silva, Mrs. Universe 2016’s, Gigy Gonzalez of Puerto Rico, Bellator MMA’s, Douglas Lima and done a large portion of Flow Kimono’s marketing materials.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
The boudoir department at Lola Land, My Boudoir Atlanta (www.myboudoiratlanta.com), is the newest addition to Lola Land, so growth in this department is the current focus. Once very specific goals have been met there, I look forward to bringing in 2-3 other photographers to assist in advancing the studio and servicing the greater Atlanta area on a larger scale. We currently have some of the most talented hair/makeup artists along with a phenomenal videographer, so the next step is bringing in more professional photographers on board.

Pricing:

Headshot packages range from $125-335 which cover the needs of working professionals, actors, models and everything in between.
Fitness photo shoots range from $125-335 and are structured for event coverage or portrait coverage for those involved in combat sports to yogis.
Boudoir portrait sessions range from $139-325 for photo shoots with products available ranging from albums, metal prints to accordion books for that special someone in your life.
