Today we’d like to introduce you to Ki’Atra Robinson.
Ki’Atra, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
It all started with a company called Frosty Treats of Atlanta. They are an ice cream truck wholesale company that got me started into venturing out my business. I was an independent contractor for them. And with the more money I made, the more money I invested into getting my own truck. Now, I am an independent business owner. I do birthday parties, company events, festivals, parades, etc. I love it.
Has it been a smooth road?
When I started in the Summer of 2018, it was a rocky experience at first. I was nervous, I was clueless and I didn’t know too much about Atlanta to find areas and spots to sell ice cream in. So, the first week I started, I just rode all through the city with my ice cream music on and dinging my bell. Once I started getting customers and finding my own rhythm, it’s been nothing but a blessing from here.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Ki’Atra’s Ice Cream Truck story. Tell us more about the business.
I drive an ice cream truck. Not only do I drive through neighborhoods, but I also host birthday parties, company events, festivals, concerts, and much more. What I’m most proud of about my company is that I have networked with a lot of people over the course of time. This has helped me build my brand and also make a big impact in my community. Plus, I love kids!
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
My favorite childhood memory is playing outside all day with my friends until the streets lights came on and running up to the ice cream truck every time the ice cream man would come through my neighborhood.
