Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Barriere.
Kimberly, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
As a child, my parents were entrepreneurs. My dad was the general contractor for his company Noble Construction and my mom was the decorative and creative one as well as the person that took all of his phone calls for scheduling appointments and jobs. I was a daddy’s girl and my sister was a moma’s girl. Since my dad worked for himself, I would hang out with him often. I would go with him to give quotes to new and old clients, where he would sometimes sit and talk for hours at a time. I would also go with him to work on renovation projects where he would teach me how to paint, cut and install baseboards and trim, doors, floors and more. My mom was the creative decorative one that taught us how to coordinate colors with fabrics, make and match pillows and bed coverings, create artwork to hang, make window coverings to hang and much much more. When my sister and I were young, maybe like seven & nine years old, our house caught fire. My dad and his crew rebuilt the house at a larger scale. Initially, we had a two-bedroom home, one bath & a half, dining room, living room, and kitchen.
By the time my dad and his crew finished rebuilding our new home, we had a six-bedroom, four-bath home. As I grew into adulthood, I still had no clue what profession I wanted to pursue until I got my own place and started using all the things I was taught as a child to aesthetically and functionally create my own spot. I’d married, had children, purchased a home and years later, my husband and I were thinking about selling to up-size. I ran across this realtor and her friend and asked if they would be interested in stopping by my home to look at it and to possibly appraise its value and discuss the selling steps. After walking through, the lady that accompanied the realtor was impressed with all the work I’d done around the house and when leaving, she slipped me her business card and told me that GOD had something in store for me.
Months passed and she must’ve called me once a week until I answered. I’d recently been fired from my job and was contemplating my next move. She worked for a college in Atlanta in the administrative office and wanted me to come down to visit the campus. That visit started my journey & changed my life FOREVER! There I received my Associate’s Degree in Interior Design, ventured off into building set designs for different stage plays & music videos, visited talk show studios behind the scenes, and had the pleasure of meeting different celebrities that was on the show, worked with BRAVO television on renovating a modeling studio, and also ended up working for an Interior Design Firm that’d been around for over 25 years and got lots of experience. I then went on to study Construction Management, which molded me into the business owner I am today. My adult life transitioned from my childhood. I’ve been abundantly BLESSED on all levels and could not have done it without crossing the paths of some great people as well as the support of my amazing & encouraging husband, children, & family!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Learning patience was definitely one of my struggles. Wanting things to come overnight was something I had to learn wasn’t going to happen. I learned timing is everything and God will move you to the next phase of your life when he knows you are ready, not when you think you are.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was very bubbly, silly, and goofy. I was always big on family, very, very family-oriented. Loved gatherings and a reason to give a party. Gatherings felt like reunions, I was able to see all of my cousins and god sister’s my age. Growing up, I loved artsy projects and toys, loved to trace first and color in the lines inside of jumbo coloring books. Outdoors bike riding and skating were my favorites. I was somewhat a tomboy growing up but still girly.
