Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly “Kim” Alexander
Hi Kim, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am a dedicated federal employee, and this June 15th, I will be celebrating 30 years of service. Currently, I work in personnel, where I help support the operations that keep our workforce running efficiently. However, my passion lies in public service, and I look forward to transitioning into a Public Health Advisor role. My goal is to work with nonprofit organizations as a project officer, supporting the incredible work they do in their communities.
I am also the founder of a conference called Shattered Pieces, which I’ve hosted for the last three years. This conference has been life-changing for every attendee and speaker. I took a break this year due to personal expenses I’ve incurred in organizing the event, but I’m excited to bring it back in September 2026. I am actively seeking sponsors to assist in making the conference a big success, and I encourage everyone to follow the Shattered Pieces Facebook page to stay in the know and ensure they don’t miss out!
What are you most proud of?
One of the things I’m most proud of is my long-standing commitment to service, both in my professional career and personal life. Over the past three decades, I have remained dedicated to making a difference, whether through my work, ministry, conference, or community efforts. I take great pride in knowing that my work helps strengthen organizations that are making a real impact in people’s lives.
What sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart is my heart for service and my ability to see the bigger picture. I don’t just see my job as a career—I see it as a calling. My experience in both personnel and nonprofit work allows me to bridge the gap between organizational needs and real-world impact.
I bring a deep understanding of how to support and empower nonprofits, ensuring they have the resources and guidance to succeed. My passion, combined with my dedication and faith, drives me to serve with excellence in every role I take on.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely not. My journey has been filled with challenges, but through it all, I’ve remained committed to serving. My husband and I were actively serving in other ministries when I discovered I had infertility issues. That was an incredibly stressful and devastating time for both of us.
Even in the midst of that pain, I continued to serve my leaders, work full-time, and fulfill my roles as a daughter, wife, First Lady, sister, great friend, and dedicated employee. Balancing it all was not easy, but I leaned on my faith and the calling God placed on my life.
This journey has taught me that true service isn’t about how smooth the road is—it’s about trusting God’s plan and staying faithful, even in the hardest seasons. While the road hasn’t been easy, it has shaped me into the person I am today, strengthening my faith and deepening my heart for serving others.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?

What’s next?
One of my biggest goals for the future is to start my nonprofit organization to support women and couples facing infertility challenges.
Fertility treatments are incredibly expensive, and insurance often covers only a minimal portion, making it difficult for many families to afford the help they need. Having personally gone through this journey with my husband, I understand the emotional and financial struggles that come with it.
I truly believe the Lord gave me this vision, and I already have the name for the organization. My goal this year is to bring that vision to life, creating a resource that provides financial assistance, education, and emotional support to those walking this path. I’m excited for what’s to come and to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Additionally, I look forward to bringing the Shattered Pieces conference back to Atlanta and eventually taking it on the road. Some so many people are shattered—some because of broken relationships, and others who struggle to keep relationships because they’ve been hurt.
But I believe God is the mender of broken hearts, and this conference is meant to help people heal and grow. This experience has been life-changing for every attendee and speaker, and I’m excited to continue growing its impact.
