Today we’d like to introduce you to Klayne Rolader.
Klayne, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was always interested in art since I was a little girl. I went to college in Brazil and was studying advertising when I had my first photography class and was instantly amazed!! I just knew, at that moment, that I wanted to work with images and visual storytelling.
I started to work as a photographer in 2008. I always loved photographing people and was always very interested about knowing them more, I wondered what was inside of each of them, their own little world, their emotions, and beliefs. I wanted to transfer that to images.
I moved from Brazil to The US, and now I’m here, sharing what I love doing! I graduated in Television Productions in The US, and that’s when videography became part of my life. I enjoy exploring new ways of telling a story!
My art today is dedicated to the experience of the viewer with the image. I love photographing people. I’m always trying to create something that makes hearts beat faster. That’s why I explore in my images candid and spontaneous moments, all of the time! I care so much about how it makes you feel, rather than just being a beautiful photo.
Photography is definitely my best and most passionate way of expression!
Has it been a smooth road?
It’s never easy to have your own business. You have to constantly go for it, and it’s all on you. It’s not easy to deal with so many different people too, everyone is different. But that is what makes every experience worthwhile, and that’s the beauty of it!
It has been a very interesting journey! I’m so lucky to have the best clients. Each of them are so special in their own way, and I feel fortunate to be able to register such important times of their lives. Being able to transfer those moments into photos is such a privilege to me!
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Mangrove Productions story. Tell us more about the business.
Mangrove Productions is an audiovisual production company who believes in making dreams come true. We exist to transform people’s stories, passions, projects and dreams into real memories.
We do photography and videography. Our specialty is love. We mostly enjoy photographing and filming people.
In photography, we do mostly weddings, maternity, family, and boudoir photoshoots.
We do a lot of videos for social media, corporate, and artistic projects for choreographers and bands.
We work as a team. We have two photographers (Klayne and Zach), who work together in production, shooting, and editing. And we also work with a bigger crew when we do a video.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
We hope to see our team growing in the next few years. We love changes, and we are always open to try new areas of visual arts. We hope to be able to travel and share our art in other parts of the world.
Challenges make us better! So we are excited and ready to try new things.
