Kreshawna, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Most people know me as Kre or KreDenae, I am a mother of three (6, 8, & a newborn), I started doing lashes June 2017. I never imagined me having a passion for lashes the way I do. When I started, I was a mother going to school for dental assistant working a job that wasn’t paying that much, and lashes was supposed to be a side hustle for me but it’s funny how life works and god had different plans. I got on Instagram, I saw a girl was advertising a lash class $500 so I beginning to YouTube lash extensions and everything about lashes. I booked the girl class and got certified doing lashes. Little did I know, my side hustle would turn into my main job because four months after I started doing lashes, I got fired from my job. For some reason, I didn’t stress about losing my job, I just went extra hard with doing lashes.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Starting my business has been rough some days and good some days, but one thing I never thought about giving up. Since I’ve started, I have worked at different salon shops, all of them were great, just not a good place for me, I think the most difficult part about the business is I was trying to juggle being a parent, student, and business owner. Some weeks, I made hundreds of dollars, and the next weeks, I made zero but I continue to be positive and pray
Please tell us about Pretty Lavish.
My business is a lash business called Pretty Lavish. I named my business pretty Lavish because when I think of pretty Lavish I think of soft, elegant, and classy. I specialize in lash extensions, strips, and individuals also promoting healthy natural lashes. I also offer lashing training.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
The only thing I would do differently is not to walk into the business with FEAR. I would like to tell all the future business owners whatever you are thinking about doing DO IT!!! Don’t think about the what if’s and don’t think about who is doing but everybody may be doing but they’re not going to do it like you.
