Today we’d like to introduce you to Krisjana Turner.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Krisjana. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My work experience is in business management and business operations, so it was only natural to fall in love with the idea of planning magical moments and all the details that it takes to make it perfect. Kris Lavender has been around for several years, but it wasn’t until I was pregnant with my daughter did I realize my current work situation was not for me. After an intense meeting with my boss and a tearful conversation with my other half, I was ready to make the leap to operating Kris Lavender full-time! I cherish being in a position where I can celebrate life and love!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road, but it has not been the most difficult. There are always the challenges of being a wedding/event planner in a saturated market. Also being a fairly new business has its challenges as well! When I meet a planner that has been in the game for 20 years or more, it is daunting! They know everyone, everywhere all over the city! LOL! My goal during times of difficulty is to always show the passion that I have for the industry as well as be confident in how I operate my business. I love what I do!
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Kris Lavender – what should we know?
Kris Lavender is a wedding and event planning company. We specialize in creating a planning process that normally may be stressful into a fun process. This allows our clients to focus on the importance of why they are having the event in the first place.
I am most proud of the values and hard work that I place in the business. I want my clients to trust my team. I want my team to trust me. We strive to operate in integrity and organization daily. We believe in family, love, balance and hard work and I think that shows in how we operate. Often times I can leave a conversation with a client nearly in tears from laughter because we shared the same silly opinion or a joke about how crazy our kids are acting at the moment.
I often reminisce on the many hours that I use to put in. Often times I still put in those same hours, if not more, but I know my new boss (me) appreciates it more and values the time put into Kris Lavender.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My family! Specifically my husband. He is an amazing cheerleader! He has the ability to see my potential light years before I see it in myself. He is constantly pushing me to operate in a zone that is often times uncomfortable but promotes growth.
Many of my clients have also been great supporters. They offer great words of encouragement towards my business growth and have also been great in bringing continuous business. I am blessed to be surrounded by such amazing support.
