Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristin Golden.
Kristin, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As a little girl, I grew up in a law firm environment. After school, instead of going home, I went to the Law Firm of Golden & Malachi; remaining there until the end of the work day. During the summers, I worked at Golden & Malachi. Initially, my job was to clean the office; next, I was assigned to answering telephone calls and filing legal documents in the various County Courts. Working for my Mother and Aunt at Golden & Malachi has been a staple in my life. In my Junior year at Hampton University, I made the commitment to pursue my career in Law. After graduating from Hampton University with a Bachelors Degree, I attained my Juris Doctorate from Elon University School of Law. Upon completing Law School and while studying for the Georgia Bar Exam; my interest in the business and marketing aspect of law firms developed. I began working for Golden & Malachi full time; taking on and tackling bigger roles at the firm. Subsequently, I became the Marketing and Administrative Director of the firm. I am responsible for the development and oversight of the Law Firm’s website, the creation of the firm’s social media presence, the design, and production of informational videos and the negotiation of billboard advertisement contracts.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, it definitely has not been a smooth road. One of my greatest struggles was bridging the gap between a generation not as familiar with social media, constant attention, and putting yourself out there; and, a generation that is accustomed to and thrives on it. Golden & Malachi had to adjust and work as a team to bring a comfort level to everyone putting themselves to the forefront of the digital marketing world. Also, ascertaining my license to practice law in the state of Georgia has been a struggle. Although it has been an uphill battle, I am secure with the fact that my struggles are mere building blocks toward success; enabling my future to shine brighter and my determination stronger.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over I would have realized earlier that success does not happen quickly. There are numerous challenges and obstacles one must overcome and lessons to be learned. Lastly, I would not have been afraid or embarrassed to fail. In fact, I now know failure defines success.
