Today we’d like to introduce you to Krys Klear.
Krys, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I used to be a professional dancer until I injured myself. I wanted to find a different avenue to still be creative and so I picked up the camera and I started shooting dancer headshots to start building my portfolio. I grew from taking headshots to shooting dance videos and different visuals. I fell in love with my camera all over again. I wanted to capture the true essence… this time, through film. I wanted to make movies, to be a part of a big production with an amazing crew and have the gratification of being a part of something the world is watching.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Smooth road… I wish. The struggle was real. Being a woman in production is not easy, I had to fight for the position… I still do. I think I will always continue to push and elevate from each project that I’m doing. There’s so much more to learn and take in.
Please tell us about I Am Klear Shot.
I believe in cinematic work. So, if the client is looking to do images or visuals, I make sure it will always have that cinematic feel. It’s your life… your story… your movie. I’m here to make sure it resonates to the audience.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over… I would still embrace the struggle. Without struggle, I wouldn’t know what sacrifice is. My journey gave me heart, courage, and grit. I would do it all over the same way… I wouldn’t change a thing, why go against the current of life.
