So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m originally from North Carolina, I moved to Atlanta to pursue a career in the entertainment industry as a makeup artist, attending makeup academy to become a certified mua later enrolling and graduating from The International School of Skin, Nails and Massage Therapy.
While in school I met so many wonderful, talented individuals, who inspired me to work for myself, I decided to offer products with services and created a lipstick line named LaCora Monet, adding an Organic Skincare Line.
Has it been a smooth road?
Along the way, I’ve had many obstacles, from financing my business to personal problems with family and friends. Business endeavors and partnerships with people who may not have had the same vision as myself. Building confidence to work independently. So many challenges! Entrepreneurship is not easy definitely a lot of blood, sweat, and tears.

LaCora Monet Cosmetics is a Holistic Skincare and Makeup Artistry Company, offering mobile and in house services from facials to body treatments to makeup artistry, specifically holistic services, we stand by the motto Skin First, Makeup Second. With over eight years of experience in Skin and Makeup, we offer products that are plant-based infused with CBD for Maxium results.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Atlanta has become the Movie industry Mecca; not only is it great for entrepreneurs but business owners in general. My business has definitely thrived here, I would definitely say that it’s a great place to start any business. I would love to see more educational classes for entrepreneurs and small businesses starting out but I think the key is to do your research and to stay consistent.
