Today we’d like to introduce you to LaCresa Callaway and Gretchen Butler. Them and their team share their story with us below:
LaCresa and Gretchen are childhood friends with over 25 years of love for each other. Our relationship has turned into us family. We both have always been creative in many different ways. We started off doing birthday parties and baby showers for family. And started getting attention from close friends and instantly fell in love with doing events and making sweet treats.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We decided to walk away from our careers of over 10 years plus to escape the “rat race” a few months prior to the Pandemic. After building the courage to do so watching other women entrepreneurs speak of situations similar to ours, we decided to start our event planning company. Even in the midst of the economy being down, which has affected our business, we have stuck to our goal of not going back into Corporate America. We both have a son and a daughter each and use them as our driving force to keep pushing forward.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about The Party Salon LLC.?
The Party Salon have one goal in mind; design and produce creative and unforgettable events. From small intimate affairs to large-scale parties, we strive to execute events that not only aim to impress but also create unique experiences for our customers and their guest that last long after the fun is over. We specialize in sweets and treats (ex. cakes, chocolate-covered strawberries, candy apples, etc.). We also create personalized favors and trinkets for your event. Last year, we added themed picnic parties (also known as “Pic & Chill” serving surrounded areas. We have plans to expand our business into a space.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
What started off as a hobby many years ago has blossomed into a full-service business doing events. “In 2019, we decided we were all in and going to take a leap of faith. We had plans to kick off 2020 with a bang, then the Pandemic happened in March of that year”. This however, did not deter us from fulfilling our dreams even in the state the world was in. We simply used some of our core values when the pressure was on by being creative and thinking outside the box. By doing small and intimate functions and providing memories.
