Today we’d like to introduce you to LaDrienna “MzEnvy” McMillian.
LaDrienna “MzEnvy” , can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am originally from Greenville. SC. My passion for modeling, retail, fashion, fashion show producing, and wardrobe styling started in South Carolina over ten years ago. However, my beauty/fashion career started as a licensed Cosmetologist. Although I was good at cosmetology and it was in my DNA, it just wasn’t my passion. While working in cosmetology, I started modeling for a local agency. The modeling agency opened up the doors to fashion, creating/producing fashion shows, wardrobe styling and personal shopping.
In 2009, I was on the hit We TV show “Bridezillas” landing in one of the top 3 episodes of season 6 and on iTunes. The experience was amazing but I was looking for a little more for fulfillment. In 2012, I moved to Atlanta, GA to study Fashion Marketing & Management at The Art Institute Of Atlanta and I also became a certified Master International Makeup Artist after graduating from QC Makeup Academy.
I found my passion. I truly enjoyed wearing the current trends but with my own flare. I realized I that had an eye for what was hot when I started selling the shoes off my feet and the clothes off my back. This led me into personal shopping and the creation of TheStyleStreetBoutique.com.
Owning a fashion boutique is a lot of work but it doesn’t feel like it because I am doing what I love…FASHION!
Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. My main struggles were fear and the lack of support. I eventually realized that not having people who support me in my passion could deter me from your focus. However, I did not let either one stop me. I had to remove fear and believe in myself. The obstacles made me stronger and allowed me to grow.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into The Style Street Boutique story. Tell us more about the business.
TheStyleStreetBoutique.com is an online fashion boutique for the trendsetter on the go and is a one-stop shop. Style Street offers fashion consultations, stylist requests, style tips, boutique parties, personal shopping, fashion show/events, model management, celebrity styling and mobile makeup artistry. The Style Street Boutique’s Collections feature an unmatched mix of contemporary and street fashion, apparel, and accessories.
I am the force behind everything Style Street. I am known for having the hottest trends for the lowest price and provide you with the style and the best face to go with it. You can’t get there anywhere! A lot of local boutiques don’t offer shoes/heels and because I can offer you both that sets me apart from all the rest.
Where do you see your industry going over the next 5-10 years? Any big shifts, changes, trends, etc?
Within the next five years, Style Street will be a full mobile beauty & fashion trends on the go and you will see us all over the ATL streets.
