Meet Dr. Lakara Foster of The Gift in Southwest

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Lakara Foster.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
As a child, I always sensed the presence of spirits around me although I didn’t know at the time that this is what they were called. I never presumed that there was anything different about me and assumed everyone could see and hear the same things I saw and heard. I quickly learned this was not the case. I kept my gift of psychic mediumship a secret from my family and friends for a long time. It was my freshmen year of college where I began using my gift to help others by connecting them to their loved ones to provide them with healing, closure, and peace. 20 years later I have helped thousands using this gift and in 2018 launched a YouTube web-series called “The Gift” which details my life as a medium, minister, and master spiritual teacher.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has been unusually smooth. I think many people assumed that I would receive backlash from reconciling my love of Christ and being a Christian with my gift of mediumship. Ironically more and more people continue to reach out to me for healing when they find out that I do both; Love God and practice mediumship.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into The Gift story. Tell us more about the business.
I am a practicing psychic medium. I specialize in connecting people with their departed loved ones by bringing them messages that they can relate to and confirm the presence of their loved ones. I am known for my work as a healer and master spiritual teacher and I am most proud of the instant healing and closure that can take place when people experience a spiritual reading. As a minister who also has a background in counseling, I know that grief can steal years of someone’s life. Using this gift has allowed me to restore those years.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I’m not sure I believe in luck as much I believe in alignment. I believe that when our thoughts, words, and actions are in alignment, then we are able to manifest the things we desire at a much faster rate. If this is luck, then I have experienced plenty of it in my lifetime.
