Can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Many of us have struggled our whole life trying to find skin care products that address common issues within our ethnicity. What we found to be the root cause was the lack of expertise residing from asking the wrong person to answer your question. Not that the intentions from the source where not pure, they truly were not trained to address these concerns in the first place. Growing up, many of us never heard of an esthetician. When men would have skin care concerns they normally would only feel confident enough to ask their barbers, however, their barber didn’t have the answer! Until now! We have barbers, estheticians, nail techs and massage therapists.
At BarberSPA SDH, we specialize in ingrown hairs, hyperpigmentation, and infections of the beard. We take an education approach to uplift the surround neighborhoods on how to properly care for your hair, skin, and nails.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
We took the road less traveled.
We decided to renovate a tiny old building instead of having a fancy upscale shop.
Oakdale drive was actually the only road that could get you from new york to Miami before interstate 285,75 or 85 was built.
The exact same roads built by slaves to fight in in the civil; returned to be the exact same roads that lead their path to freedom.
This Smyrna area was where Confederate Gen. Joseph Johnston retreated after he was forced to abandon Kennesaw Mountain, when Sherman‘s forces under Gen. John Schofield threatened Johnston’s southern flank July 3-9, 1864. One of the first Atlanta grocery stores sits right next to our location.

Our location looks just like a Bar, All of our products are in alcoholic containers and our services are named after them as well.
when you step into our establishment it like ordering a drink at the bar.
My Favorite Service is a Salty Margarita on the rocks. With an “exfoliating” salty margarita facial with a massage that goes from my hands to my ears, to my neck to my feet with a complimentary “salty margarita”.
