Today we’d like to introduce you to Lamar Fletcher.
Lamar, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
The road to where I am now with my construction company, I have always described ALL PRO ATL as a nontraditional road. Growing up on the Westside of Atlanta, I have always had high ambition and a determination to do something that would change the trajectory for many in the community that I grew up, many of the individuals on the Westside of Atlanta has suffered for many years enduring the highest levels of poverty in the nation with really no way out. Despite not having many resources growing up, I thank God each and every day for my Father the late Reverend Darrion Fletcher who was highly involved in politics in the City of Atlanta alongside my mother, Jacquenette Fletcher for instilling in me to always believe in myself no matter what odds may be at hand and fight for my dreams through all adversity. It was because of my parents that I graduated high school at Frederick Douglass High School and was able to continue my post secondary education graduating from the University of Georgia in 2017 when everyone counted me out due to my circumstances growing up; I remained steadfast growing up with negative influences around me and lack of resources that I always strived to open my own business where I could do the right thing and be the influence of positivity in my community that we can change things up for ourselves if we can first BELIEVE that those things we hope for are possible.
I quit my corporate job and opened my Construction company a year ago with the Vision of bringing change and helping to beautify my childhood community in the light of showing people in high poverty areas that they are worth more and deserved more through the acts of improved living areas. Since beginning my construction company, the youngest contractor in Atlanta, with me being just 25 years old, I have been blessed to serve my community investors and landlords by helping to fix damaged properties to make them living ready again, restoring many features that had become eyesores to our community. Everything from the invention of my company has been directly aimed at targeting to influence and bring change to poor areas around Atlanta. Growing up poor, I know how it feels to have nothing, to have no sense of hope, to begin to feel worthless due to contaminated living conditions. Its been a very emotional road and every home we can beautify on the Westside of Atlanta, we take pride in rebuilding because we understand how much-beautified living could improve a family life outlook.
Lastly, out of everything we have done to create change up to this point – our biggest offering has been able to employ some individuals from surrounding Atlanta communities in which I grew up to help with some of the construction work while training some to learn a new skillset. We have had the opportunity to employ individuals with our NO BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT opportunity giving those that have been disenfranchised from the hiring process due to failing a drug test, felonies, etc. we provide them with another shot at making living wages and gaining valuable employment to intercede on a sustainable life which every person deserves. Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has been full of many Ups and Downs. One of my biggest struggles as a General Contractor behind not having much capital to start my company has been gaining trust in the construction community due to my young age. I’ve worked to overcome that struggle by successfully building a portfolio of successful work projects; also, I have employed experienced workers with up to 20 years in construction, so by any means, we never lack experience and credentials to get the job done.

What I am most proud of our company and what sets us apart from most isn’t only the fact we are millennial owned, but the fact that our projects go beyond just doing construction work. In every project we touch, we ask ourselves one question: How are we improving this community? Every single time, before the money is made, being able to answer that question will determine if I want us even to touch the project or not.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory has always been me freaking out as big as I was every time my parents took me to Chuck E Cheese. Still, until this day, I go there to mess with the character because of that one memory.
