Lan, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
This salon is a family business. I & my siblings are all U.S. immigrants who came here from Vietnam to realize our American dreams. We were working as nail technicians first before we decided to open our own salon since Aug 2016.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
-Before opening: finding leasing space locations, designing store layout, supervising the construction, applying for licenses, hiring nail technicians, estheticians & cosmetologists.
-After opening: keep improving customer services, executing marketing plan (website, social medias) & promotion campaign (specials), managing the staffs

What were you like growing up?
I like to make other people’s appearances look nice (their nails, skins, hairs, etc). I like everything that is beautiful & artistic. I have an MBA degree with Accounting major, but I like to challenge myself in the beauty industry.
