Today we’d like to introduce you to Lancy Stubbs.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Lancy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was in college as a sophomore and in the middle of my second semester, my schedule was terminated. I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life exactly I just knew school wasn’t it. I ended up working in the kitchen or a restaurant and wasn’t making money like I wanted. One day my dad came to me and suggested that I try cutting hair. I never thought Barber’s made real money but I enrolled into barber school anyway and ended up developing a passion for it. I ended up working in a shop that I was already going to as I was in high school and started focusing on my craft. After about three years in that shop it was time to take it to the next level in the industry and God lead me to Furious Styles.
Has it been a smooth road?
It definitely wasn’t a smooth road. It was road full of lessons. I messed up plenty of heads before I really knew what I was doing. I had countless days where I only had one haircut or might’ve not gotten to cut at all the whole day. It was days where I honestly wanted to quit but God wouldn’t let me. He gave me the strength everyday to keep pushing no matter how hard the grind got.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Sirlancealotcutz – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I am sirlancealot, I’m a barber in midtown Atlanta at Furious Styles. I’m known for always being upbeat and joking with everybody. I love having fun in the shop, making people laugh and rejuvenating people’s image. I’m most proud of the process that god put me through. I went through many ups and downs just to get where I am today. Through that process I learned how to have fun and always remain grounded and I think that’s what sets me apart from others.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I like best about Atlanta is the opportunity to always grow. You never know what opportunity might open up whenever, wherever, when you’re in Atlanta. I love my city can’t say anything bad about it other than the traffic. haha
