Meet Lane Reid of Elite Beauty Bar in Inman Park and Old Fourth Ward

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lane Reid.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Lane. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have been in the beauty business in various different areas since graduating from the International School of Skin and Nails in 2001. Over the years, I have done a lot of different types of work in the industry. I worked as a medical esthetician performing laser hair removal and chemical peels. I have immersed myself in a more spa environment offering facials, and waxing. Then lash extensions caught my attention and I added that to my repertoire. The fantastic thing about working in the esthetics field is that there is always something new to learn and it gives professionals in the field an opportunity to evolve and recreate themselves. It’s never boring that is for sure! I really enjoy enhancing my client’s natural beauty.

Elite beauty bar is something that I have thought about opening for a long time. Opening your own business isn’t an easy task and I really wanted to be ready. I knew I was at a point in my career where I could no longer work for anyone else. I had a vision of the environment I wanted to create for myself and others. I am able to combine my love of retail, people, beauty and creativity in one space. Services are offered with expertise and quality. Most of the products on the shelves are local and amazing! I have a great clientele that I adore and they make my work feel more like socializing…. I’m a lucky girl!!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I have definitely struggled along the way. I have worked for people in the past that have zero idea of what the industry is really about. It’s not just about making money it’s about caring for your clients. I have found over the years that it’s really challenging to work for someone who doesn’t actually do the work. Transitioning from service provider to business owner has been difficult but extremely rewarding.

At Elite beauty bar we offer an eclectic beauty apothecary that has been a lot of fun putting together. I think that there is a little something here for everyone. We specialize in waxing, skincare, and lash extensions. As a company we provide consistent services with high end equipment and products to make sure that clients receive only the best. We are very particular when it comes to offering a relaxing and clean environment for our clients to enjoy. Elite beauty bar is a mixture of great services products and vibe…. come on in!

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would have started working for myself sooner!!! Having creative control and spending money where it counts is such a blessing.
