Meet LaNise Thrasher of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to LaNise Thrasher.

Hi LaNise, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hi, I’m LaNise Thrasher®, also known as The Love Cheerleader®! I’m an Author, Speaker, and Certified Life Coach who helps women break up with heartbreak in all its forms – whether from divorce, relationships, friendship breakups, career changes, or the loss of loved ones. My passion for this work started in childhood—I was always the go-to person for matters of the heart, naturally becoming a trusted confidante for family and friends navigating relationships and life challenges.

Little did I know, my own heartbreak would become the catalyst for transforming women’s lives everywhere. After five years of marriage, I made the difficult decision to end it, leaving me overwhelmed with shame, embarrassment, and guilt. For two years, I devoted myself to intentional healing with God as my foundation. I tried everything—therapy, leaning on loved ones, and immersing myself in personal development. Yet, I often felt lost, wishing I had a structured guide to walk me through the healing process.

That realization led me to create a framework I wish I had—one that helps women go from broken to thriving with guidance, rather than slow self-discovery.

What started as informally helping women through divorce and breakups has since blossomed into a full-fledged coaching practice over the past five years. Along the way, I have contributed to a book anthology, spoken on virtual and in-person stages, received an award for my work, and written for a magazine in The Netherlands. In 2024, I hosted my first sold-out live event, “Break Up with Heartbreak.” In early 2025, I published my first book, It Takes Courage to Do This: How to Remove the Mask and Break Up with Heartbreak, and shortly after, I was featured on The Portia Show as an expert on life after divorce.

I never imagined that my personal heartbreak would become the foundation for helping so many women heal. But today, I consider it an honor to walk with women through life’s toughest transitions, helping them break free and rediscover themselves again.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Has it been a smooth road? Not at all.

One of my biggest challenges has been helping women understand that healing must be intentional. Society often tells us to “just get over it” or “stay busy,” but true healing requires more than time and distraction. I had to work hard to help women unlearn harmful narratives about grief, heartbreak, and emotional healing.

Another challenge was hosting my first live event, Break Up with Heartbreak. I battled typical entrepreneurial fears—would people show up? Would they connect with my vision? Would the investment of time and resources pay off? Despite my doubts, the event sold out and women experienced the breakthroughs they needed. That moment reaffirmed what I already knew—women are hungry for a new approach to healing.

Writing my book brought another layer of challenges. Telling my personal story of divorce and sharing my proven framework required a deeper level of vulnerability than I expected. But I knew that if my story could help even one woman feel seen and supported, it was worth it.

Through it all, these challenges have only deepened my faith and strengthened my message. Every obstacle has refined my work and reminded me why I was called to help women break up with heartbreak and find their rhythm again.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in helping women break up with heartbreak—whether from divorce, relationships, friendship breakups, career changes, or the loss of loved ones.

Through my signature framework, The P.A.U.S.E. Challenge®, I teach women to find stillness in a noisy world. While many coaches focus on simply getting through heartbreak, I show women how to break up with it entirely so it doesn’t show up in their relationships, careers, or daily interactions.

In my signature program, Conquer Heartbreak Academy, I offer a 12-week coaching journey that uniquely integrates scripture, prayer, and actionable healing strategies. Each 90-minute session helps women remove the mask they’ve been wearing, rebuild confidence, stop sabotaging future relationships, and find true freedom.

What sets me apart is my holistic, faith-based approach that blends spiritual healing with practical, real-world strategies. My sessions aren’t just about surface-level motivation—I create a sacred, safe space where women can do the deep work of healing while being fully supported.

What I’m most proud of is seeing my clients’ transformations. They come to me feeling broken, but they leave walking, talking, and believing differently. They trust God more, radiate confidence, and rediscover their joy. Every breakthrough reminds me why this work is my calling.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Most people assume that Life Coaching is all about dwelling on the past—but my sessions focus heavily on intentional healing and building future strength.

My clients don’t just “talk about their pain”—they practice confidence-building exercises and role-playing strategies. We incorporate fun, engaging activities so that healing doesn’t feel heavy all the time. Many of my clients are surprised to find themselves laughing again during our sessions—because healing isn’t just about processing pain, it’s about reclaiming joy.

Healing is about more than just looking back—it’s about stepping forward into a thriving, joyful future.
