Lánre, it’s been too long since we last connected. Thanks so much for taking the time to share your thoughts with our community again. Some readers might have missed our prior conversations, so maybe you can kick things off for us with a quick intro?
Thanks for having me back! For all the new readers, my name is Lánre and I’m a singer-songwriter from Atlanta, GA. I’ve been singing and performing since I was 8 and started releasing music professionally in 2020 where I released my debut EP, In My Dreams. I’ve since been blessed to do shows all over the US and have gained over 1 million streams on Spotify with listeners around the world!

Do you write songs based on personal experience or do you pull inspiration from elsewhere? Or both?
It’s really a combination of personal experiences and stories I’ve heard from friends, and things I’ve watched on tv or read somewhere. I live an exciting life that comes with a lot of stories to get inspired from including ones that I’m not the main character in. But no matter where these stories originate from, I always make sure to include a theme that means a lot to me to tie it together.

A good example of this is my song ‘No Bodies’ which I got the whole concept of the song from an Instagram comment. I built off of that premise and turned the theme of the song to be about why I like to keep my romantic life private.

What goals do you have for your music career this year and beyond?
My overall goals for my music career this year is for my music to reach new territories and gain more fans. I have an amazing marketing team working with me on my releases this year to do just that and we are very focused on taking my career to the next level by reaching new audiences. I’m also pushing myself in the studio to continue to become a better writer and vocalist. The same goes with my live performances, I’ve completely reworked my live set to engage with audiences better and to give them a more rounded experience of my music.

What’s one of the biggest lessons you’ve learned in your career so far? What challenges have you had to overcome?
I’ve learned that it’s important to remember that there are no shortcuts. When you want a solid and long-lasting career like I’m building, it’s important to embrace the “come-up” era without trying to skip to the “made it” one. If you try to skip steps, you end up missing a lot of growth opportunities that will help you down the line. I have so many opportunities today that I wasn’t ready for when I was first starting out in 2020. These past 2-3 years have given me so much experience to grow through trial and error, so when the big opportunities came, I was the type of person and artist that could handle the responsibility to execute them.

Alright, so before we go, how can our readers connect with you to learn more and show support?
