Today we’d like to introduce you to Larese Dockery.
Hi Larese, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Born and raised in Dayton, OH, I moved to Atlanta in 2012 to seize the opportunity of networking and to soak up the inspiration that Georgia has to offer. My career background in Property Management and Real Estate never seemed to fulfill me at my soul level, which I now understand was preparing me for where I am today. I accepted the invitation and began my spiritual and healing journey following a traumatic medical crisis. This event left my daughter unable to speak, walk, feed herself (if eating at all), and any other daily task that we often take for granted. After an extended period of time hospitalized and in rehabilitation, she recovered about 70%. We are grateful for the treatment that she was given but 70% was not good enough.
I’ve always had a connection to natural healing, not to the extent that I do now but I’d always look to natural remedies before scheduling an appointment. I guess I can say that once my family and I experienced the hardship of my daughter’s situation, the connection to natural healing was stronger than ever. I left my corporate job, dove deeper into my spirituality and the power of the herbs. It only made sense that in order to HEAL, we have to work with what the infinite has so graciously given us. After converting my entire family to a plant-based diet, working with the herbs, and reintroducing us to our divine inner healing source, things changed for her. Today she is back to about 95% and on NO prescription/synthetic medication. I, for the first time saw for myself the power of the body and mind. When supported and left to do what it naturally does, we activate God’s healing presence within us. I was called to share my experiences and intuitive wisdom with others which developed into IAMOH Herbals.
IAMOH is an acronym for I AM My Own Healer. Whatever we place “I AM” in front of becomes our reality. Everything that we need has been uniquely placed inside of us all. When we stop looking to outside sources for healing and utilize God’s presence within, we begin to truly heal-rather be physically, mentally, emotionally, or spiritually. I was divinely led to my now business partner, Raphael Johnson, who was an amazing support. He continued to shift his lifestyle and embarked on his healing shortly after. IAMOH operated strictly online and social media until this past August when the actual storefront came into manifestation. We opened the doors to IAMOH Herbals in Covington, GA to offer an assortment of healing tools and herbs (over 200 herbs on our Herb Bar 😊). It’s funny how when we slow down, rather it be voluntary or forced, we have the opportunity to tap into the innate gifts that God has granted us.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Lol, it has not been a smooth road when it comes to how difficult my mind tends to make it out to be. On this journey I’ve learned that many of the difficulties that we experience are a result of our enteral conversations and thought patterns. Now don’t get me wrong, yes it is a tremendous amount of work that goes into running a business but when the work is aligned it doesn’t feel like work but yet a form of service. The results and rewards of being obedient and living in faith will come effortlessly and in divine timing. These are some of the internal conversations that I have with myself DAILY. It helps those seemingly difficult times flow. I am grateful no matter what.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I build relationships with nature. I heal myself and learn myself in order to be filled with the inspirations to create for the betterment of us all. I intuitively craft herbal tea blends, syrups, tinctures, spiritual baths and salts, Shea butters, yoni herbal steams, spiritual waters, and Sea Moss Gels. While Raphael has tapped into the blending of our dry herbal tea blend, detox waters, natural Men’s Health products, and more. We are well known for our Award Winning Wild Crafted Sea Moss Gels and punches/teas. Our Gels are infused with an array of herbs, spices, and fruits with the intent to work with the synergies of them all when combined to target particular body systems for support and healing. Overall I’m most proud of how receptive the community is of our products and services. We also host classes and workshops to teach the community how to heal naturally. To have already established our “regulars” we like to call them family and to see them naturally healing themselves on all levels, lets me know that I made the right decision to move forward. What sets us apart from others is our ability to connect with those who are aligned with what we offer. Many times, money is the driving factor within businesses’ offerings or work. With us, we didn’t choose this, it chose us. We dedicate our time and energy to the service of others with the purest intentions and because of that we are different.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was a loner. I never really had any friends so I’d talk with the blades of grass while I out on a “mission” riding my bike. I also, enjoyed playing “school”. I would teach my baby dolls if there were no one else around to “learn” lol. Playing “store” was also a great time. I’d get into the pantry, pull all of the canned goods and pasta boxes out, and scan and bag them while having a conversation with my imaginary customer. It’s funny that now I think back to those times and realize that spirit was amongst me then, lending me clues into my calling. I had my first daughter at the age of 16 so half of my teenage years were dedicated to her. Yet and still I didn’t have many friends or was too interested in being amongst lots of people, it just made me feel uneasy and unable to be my authentic self.
