Today we’d like to introduce you to Lashawn Renee.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Lashawn. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve always had a passion for creating and baking. When my daughters were younger, I hosted dress-up tea parties for them and their friends. I would make all of the treats and decorations. From there, I took a course in event planning and catering. In 2015 I decided to that I wanted to start a planning business. However, my family and friends would always ask me for cakes and treats. The treats took over and four years later I’m still at it.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has not been a smooth one. Blood, sweat and tears literally went into building my business. Late nights, very early mornings, losing sleep, missing out on events with family and missing school functions for my kids. I was working a 9-5 job and attending school for myself that was exhausting in itself. These are just a few of the many challenges that I faced.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Ooh Lala Confections – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Ooh Lala Confections is a home-based business that specializes in custom sweet treats for any and every occasion. Candy apples, sugar cookies and decorated Rice Krispy treats are among my most requested items. I pride myself in delivering luxury and quality treats. I make it my top priority to satisfy my customers. I always take the time to continue to grow and learn every aspect of this industry. Practicing, customer satisfaction and investing in myself to take my craft to the next level is must in setting myself apart.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
All I can say is that 2020 and beyond will be an AMAZING year for Ooh Lala Confections. Including but not limited to collaborations and a new business adventure that I’m super excited about.
