Today we’d like to introduce you to Latashi Trueheart.
Latashi, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My journey started April 2018 when I found myself looking for a way to serve people in a unique and heart felt way. So, I decided to start a candle co. In the begin I was taking pictures of loved ones who had passed away and placing that picture in wax. Making a unique way to honor the life of a loved one. Soon after I started making desert candles, special event candles and scented jar candles. In March of 2019 I started hosting candle making parties. I really wanted to go all in with the company so in May 2019 I retired from my career as a correctional officer. Things were going good and then Covid-19 changed how I had to conduct business. Since I could no longer host candle parties, I wrote an e-book and created a at home candle making kit. Set up a website and started online orders. Today the company continues to grow.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
This road has been a little bumpy. One reason confidence. Allow me to explain, In April of 2000 I suffered from a brain aneurysm. It caused me to completely lose my scents of smell. It took me a little while to build enough confidence to believe I could make a great smelling candle without being able to smell myself.

Heavenly Creations is not your average candle company. We specialize in honor candles, special event and desert candles. What sets me apart…each candle is created with the customer in mind.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
What is success? For me success is knowing I have done my very best each day.
