Today we’d like to introduce you to Latonia Wallace Copeland.
Hi Latonia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
With over 20 years of experience in hospitality and aviation, I’ve hosted and facilitated multiple events, both corporate and non-corporate.
As the owner of Essential Affairs, LLC, an experienced Event Designer and Strategist, I hold a degree in Graphic Design and a skilled flair in creativity and customer service. I’m also an Interfaith Chaplain, a Wellness Advocate, an Author, a Technical Writer, and a Boss Brand Ambassador for International Celebrity Fashion Designer. As a military mom and veteran spouse, I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling when possible. I’m inspired by positive and creative people.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been a road of obstacles. As a young adult, I had to overcome many struggles in my personal relationships and in business. In my career in aviation, I faced three airline bankruptcies, a merger, a divorce and I’m a survivor of domestic violence.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
As an Event Designer and Strategist, I specialize in providing luxury linen and decor while customizing to a clients’ needs and budget. It’s very rewarding to create a magical transformation for a client. I have a keen desire to capture special moments, and it’s all about the clients’ experience from start to finish.
Any big plans?
I am currently investing to South African Art and hosting an exhibit at a local historic gallery in Marietta. My goal is to invest further and assist families in Africa while also donating a portion of the proceeds to a local non-profit. In the event business, I hope to build an agency that highlights other amazing event designers that go above and beyond for their clients in creating exceptional experiences.
