Today we’d like to introduce you to LaTonya Stanley.
LaTonya, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My story began before I knew it was a story!! I’ve always been a person who loves to have parties, BBQ and have lots of family and friends around. Since I can remember planning parties and seeing the outcome of people having a great time always brought me joy! When I was growing up, my parents hosted many parties and family gatherings and I developed a passion for that environment along the way. The decor side of my business was birthed from my father, the late Paul Monroe Jr., who was an interior decorator that had an eye for elegant decor and details.
In February 2012, I joined The Embassy Church, formally known as New Birth Savannah. From there I began to shadow and assist my First Lady Elder Lawanda Law who has a gift for Events, Hospitality, Business and Administration all in one. She poured a wealth of knowledge into me that helped me establish Elegant Visions Events as well as be appointed over Events and Hospitality of the ministry. In my serving I was able to gain much training and feedback on how to better my craft.
During this time, I never had the desire to start a business, but with the help of God and having great friends and family around I started on a journey of entrepreneurship! August 2015 I designed my first event, a wedding for the daughter of my good friends Johnnie and Deirdra Mobley. As a new business owner just getting started they trusted me to provide the vision for their oldest daughter’s wedding. Not only that they provided my first set of inventory and helped me establish my business name to launch my business. I’m forever grateful to them both for all the encouragement and support they provided to Elegant Visions.
Over the last five years, I have had the opportunity to coordinate and decorate many Weddings, Anniversaries, Corporate and Non Profit events from Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida and more!!
Has it been a smooth road?
Absolutely not!! From lost inventory packages to runaway brides, nothing about events is smooth, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. There are many obstacles that I have and currently still encounter along the way. As a new business owner and not being from the area, it was harder to establish clients and build trust over the years. With hard work, going to conferences to stay knowledgeable, and leaning on other planners in the area, I have been able to build a business that is still growing today.
My husband and children have been my support for a successful business. They, too are the face of the Elegant Visions Team that helps create the vision as well as my assistant Shonda O’Connor. Elegant Visions would face many more obstacles if we didn’t have the support of a great team as we do!

Elegant Visions Events is dedicated to providing all our clients with the vision of elegance and excellence you desire. As an Event & Wedding Planner, I orchestrate every element of the event, starting with Planning, Coordination, Custom invitations, linens, lighting, Floral, Table service and more. We specialized in Weddings, baby showers, birthday parties, anniversaries, corporate events and rentals.
Elegant Visions Events was created with the passion for designing beautiful events and crafting authentic moments that are turned into Elegant memories. Our passion, experience and knowledge is key to telling our client’s amazing stories of love and life through cohesive planning, tasteful design and event management.
We are known for our family friendly environment. We pride ourselves in being an overall support system for all our client’s needs. After our events are over our clients now become friends and family to lead to recurrent events in the future. We will always “Add A Touch Of Elegance” to your event!
I am most proud of the overall growth of The Elegant Visions Events teams as well as the business. To see how much we have grown in an industry that is highly competitive and forever growing motivates me.
What sets me apart is my crazy faith and personality! I stand out to my clients because I think anything is possible! Some think I’m crazy for taking on some of the events I do, but I see life with no limits and that’s what drives me! During my consultations, I encourage my clients to get their heart’s desire and don’t limit themselves because ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!!
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I like best is the diversity and the forever changing trends to be creative. If I had to choose one thing I like the least, it would be the traffic! I am not a fan of bumper to bumper traffic and long commutes!
