Latonya, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I go by the name of Lori Dior! I’m 25 years old! I started my company at 22 years old! Before I opened my Spa, I was in the bartending industry. I made the most delicious drinks at the bar in four different clubs… I’ve always wanted to be my own Boss and do my own thing. I went to college to become an esthetician, later on, I opened my Spa! Being in this industry, I’ve had ups and downs but for the most part, it’s well worth it. My advice would be to remain humble and be consistent with what you doing in life. Always see the better days and have a good outlook on life!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My very first year, I was new to the industry and it was very rocky! I never knew the first year you really don’t make money, you will be too busy investing in the business so that caught me off guard. I would say the first year have a second job to make sure you have more than one income coming in! Also, be a present BOSS. No one will treat your business like you will! Always be present and also, be at your business MOST OF THE TIME. You need to make sure things going correct at all times!!

I am most known for BODY SCULPTING. Body sculpting, I make the most money and that’s what my clients MAINLY COME FOR. I am most proud that my Spa has built clientele over the years! We worked up a pretty good clientele that always comes back for services! What sets me apart from other spas, in my spa my prices are very affordable. We provide wine and you can also smoke the hookah before your service. We also have many services to choose from within the menu! We always welcome our clients with positive energy and we strive to give the best results we can.

Well, I’ve really never had a mentor, honestly, I had to figure things out and just go with the flow! I didn’t have a person to go to that would give me on site advice. I had to really figure out what’s next and be SELF TAUGHT in this industry! Every lesson I learned, I personally went through it and learned from it!
